The seventh annual Crystal Palace Beer Festival took place at Selhurst Park on Saturday with 2,500 visitors enjoying a choice of well over 200 beers and ciders from around the country plus a fine selection of bottled beers from across the world.
We would like to thank everyone who attended and on the warmest day of the year so far in SE25, it was perfect weather to enjoy the great selection of food and drink available.
Julian Speroni and Neil Morrissey joined Stephen Browett in the Red and Blue Bar for the opening ceremony and throughout the day we were delighted to be joined by a great line-up of entertainment.
Lawrence Hill, a finalist on ITV’s The Voice programme, All Saints Concert Band, Seattle Inc, Quella Band, Birddog Blues, High Chaparals, and Brother of Mothershovel all added their style of music to the club’s celebration of our record-breaking fifth successive season in the top flight.
Stephen Browett was delighted to see the event once again round off the season “It was a wonderful afternoon and great to see so many familiar Palace faces getting together to enjoy our now traditional end of season party. The beers were expertly chosen by our friends at the Cronx and another highlight was watching the Palace for Life Foundation match on the pitch. Teams managed by Julian Speroni and Eddie McGoldrick played out a 6-6 draw and it was marvellous to welcome back Perry Suckling, Bobby Bowry, Simon Osborn and Rudi Hedman.
We are pleased to award the prestigious “CPFC Beer of the Festival” to Citra Star from Anarchy Brew Co – all the way from Northumberland.
“Highly Commended” were Wild Beer’s Millionaire Stout, Ilkley Brewery’s Olicana, Brixton Brewery’s Low Voltage and, surprise, surprise…Fourpure’s Crystal Palace.
We hope all attendees had an enjoyable afternoon in the spring sunshine.
